

Shaykh Akram al-Majid
Shaykh Akram al-Majid studied in Islamic Seminaries for over 20 years. He has studied subjects such as Jurisprudence, Philosophy and Theology under some of the greatest contemporary Scholars and teaches Philosophy and Mysticism amongst other subjects. At present, he teaches and lectures in institutions, Islamic Seminaries and Mosques around the world.

Dr. Ali received his doctorate from the University of California at Berkeley in Islamic Studies. He specializes in Islamic Mysticism, Ethics and Philosophy. In addition, he has spent several years studying Traditional Chinese Medicine at Emperor's College in Santa Monica. He has studied in the traditional Islamic Seminary of Qum for a number of years focusing on Spiritual Psychology and Mysticism. Although based in Los Angeles, he is currently continuing his education at the Hawza in Qum.
His teaching includes courses in Arabic and Islamic Studies at UC Berkeley and the University of Washington. He travels extensively to various cities in North America to conduct camps, courses and lectures, particularly during the summer and the months of Muharram and Ramadhan.
